Personal Brand Portraits for an Arts Leader and Administrator

Location: The Worker’s Club in Saratoga Springs, NY

Katrina is an arts leader and administrator based out of Saratoga Springs, New York. We connected on Instagram and I’m so glad we were able to meet in real life to collaborate on a photoshoot!

Her goal for the session was to capture some headshots for professional use and portraits for her personal social media accounts. Check out the results below and hear what she had to say about her session!

Why did you need new photos? What do you plan to use them for?

I started a new job which prompted me to look for a photo of myself. Through COVID and a cross-country move from Seattle, I realized I hadn't taken photos in over 2.5 years! I wanted pictures to use on LinkedIn and Instagram.

What was the main reason you chose Meredith Hart Photography for your photo session?

I had been following Meredith and saw she was scheduling another photoshoot in my area, so I took advantage of that and finally got to book with her!

What was it like working with Meredith?

I am totally camera-shy, and Meredith made the session so easy and comfortable. I warned her that I am a chronic blinker and somehow always have my eyes closed in any given shot. She made me feel so comfortable, was able to highlight very flattering and natural poses, and capture a variety of images to use.

How did you choose what to wear?

I looked at the backdrop of our chosen venue and decided to build a cohesive outfit from there. Because I had the opportunity to have 2 outfits, I chose something that was more casual business/day-to-day, and something that was a little more formal and fun for some variety.

What advice would you give someone if they were on the fence about getting professional photos taken?

Just do it! Photographers know how to pull out the best of you and highlight your most flattering features and angles in a way that an iPhone photo simply won't. As an end result, you will look cohesive, polished, and professional in your brand representation.
