It was so wonderful to collaborate with Ashley and capture some headshots and portraits for her senior recital! Here’s what she had to say about her photoshoot:

Tell us a little about yourself!

My name is Ashley, I am a senior at the Eastman School of Music studying Viola Performance with Professor George Taylor.

Why did you need new photos? What do you plan to use them for?

I have a senior recital in April and I was looking to get a photo done for a recital poster! I also was looking to get some updated headshots since it’s been almost 4 years since I've had my photo taken and I needed an update.

What was the main reason you chose Meredith Hart Photography for your photo session?

My friend McKenzie had gotten her headshots done by Meredith and when I saw the beautiful photos on her Instagram and website I had to reach out. I loved the vibrancy and detail in all of Meredith's photos and the realness in her posts.

What was it like working with Meredith?

I had so much fun throughout my entire photoshoot! Meredith is so kind and genuine and she is able to capture your personality through the lens so beautifully. Something I admire is how well she is able to produce what you envision for your photos and then go beyond what you might have expected.

How did you choose what to wear?

I brought a couple of different options to my shoot. However, I ended up only wearing two of the four outfits. The green dress I brought really accentuated my eyes and I went with my favorite colors (blue and green). I also knew the space we were taking the photos well so I tried to choose colors that might fit the aesthetics of the space.

What advice would you give someone if they were on the fence about getting professional photos taken?

Do it! I was on the fence for a while because I wasn't sure if it was something I really needed to do. It was a nice treat to myself and now I have wonderful photos that I can use for various occasions.
